What to Wear in Nashville: 7 Classy and Effortless Summer Nashville Outfits
I recently went on a trip to Nashville for CMA fest and you better believe I spent more time and money outfit planning for the trip than I should have! Nashville is such a fun town to get dressed up for because you can wear just about anything and not look out of place. You will fit right in dressed super casually, but you can also totally get away with elevating your look or even branching out and trying something new or daring. I tend to gravitate towards elevated casual looks that are comfortable and not overly suggestive or risqué. If that’s how you like to dress, keep on reading because I am sharing all of the summer Nashville outfits that I packed for my trip (and a few bonus looks that I couldn’t fit in my suitcase)!

Nashville Outfit Ideas
Dress and Cowboy Boots Outfits
One of the easiest formulas for cute Nashville outfits is a good pair of cowgirl boots paired with a trendy summer dress. You really can’t go wrong here in terms of cut, silhouette or color, so stick with what you like and feel most comfortable in. Pairing boots with a dress is a good way to go if you are starting with your favorite pair of boots and building your outfit from there. The options are just about endless, especially in the summertime when you don’t have to worry much about cooler temps and keeping warm. In fact, if you are going to be spending time in Tennessee in the sweltering summer sun, the concern might be just the opposite. If you are concerned with staying cool, I’d recommend either choosing a flowy silhouette or a lightweight/breathable fabric (or both)!
I actually wore this exact outfit on my recent trip to Nashville in June. The weather was warm, but I wouldn’t describe the temps as sweltering while I was there. The denim material is a bit heavy, but the looser fit of this dress makes it very breezy and breathable. I thought that the white boots and handbag really popped with the pink denim. The dress does come in several other more traditional washes of denim, if pink is not your thing. I’m about 5’6” and ordered a size small in the dress. In terms of length, it is just about at my limit. I wouldn’t want it to be any shorter. Just something to note, especially if you are a taller girl.
Here is one other dress and cowgirl boots look that I wanted to share. I didn’t get a chance to wear this while I was in Nashville, but I think that it would make a great option. The material of this dress is very lightweight. The cut is also flowy and breathable. The combination of those two factors would make it a sensible outfit to wear in the hot southern sun. I am wearing my true size small in the apricot color option. The dress is an Amazon find and like many other Amazon fashion finds, it comes in several other colors. If you are wanting a roomier look or some extra length, I think that you could get away with sizing up one in this dress.
Pro tip: There is no shortage of delicious food all around Nashville. You might prefer to opt for looser fitting dresses like the ones I’ve shared here versus more form fitting cuts. That way there is plenty of room in the belly area to indulge without worrying about the bloat that might accompany a calorie dense meal.
Amazon Nashville Outfits
Like most people, I shop on Amazon a lot! Of course I turned to Amazon while outfit planning for my latest Nashville trip. Basically all of the outfits that I am sharing in this blog post have at least one component that is from Amazon, but these next few are head-to-toe Amazon finds. Sometimes it is nice to be able to order a complete outfit from one retailer, so here are a few Amazon Nashville outfits!
This is probably the outfit that I was most excited to wear on my most recent Nashville trip. Monochrome outfits have been having a moment for a while now and I can not get enough of it! Pairing like colors can be especially tough when you are ordering pieces online. It can be hard to tell from a computer screen if similar hues will be compatible or clash terribly. These shorts in the camel color paired with this bodysuit in the sienna color is a combo that works! I am wearing a small in both pieces for sizing reference. I should mention that I found out the hard way that the bodysuit is not sweat proof. You may want to be conscious of that if you are going to be moving or sweating while wearing it.
Using the same shorts, hat, and boots as the last outfit, I created an entirely fresh outfit just by switching out the bodysuit here. This bodysuit is a little more robust than that last one and I think that it will hold up better in sweaty weather. It’s crazy how switching out one piece of an outfit can create a completely different look! It’s an awesome little trick, especially for travel when suitcase space might be limited.
Pro Tip: Since your boots are probably going to be one of the bulkiest items that you are going to pack for a trip to Nashville, try to only pack one pair. Choose your favorite pair that you know are comfortable and build your outfits off of those boots. That way you can save space for souvenirs!
Here is one last Amazon outfit that I wanted to share. I have not yet had a chance to actually wear this one in the real world. I do love the way that it came together, so I still wanted to share it. The exact romper that I am wearing here is a couple of years old, but there is a super similar one that is available on Amazon that I have linked here. As you can tell, I am a neutral girlie. The romper comes in a ton of other color options if you’d prefer to go another route though! I did size up to a medium for length in the romper and I am glad that I did. The extra room increases the comfort factor, in my opinion.
Nashville Fashion Trends
If you are wanting to try out a new fashion trend, Nashville is a great place to do it! Like I mentioned earlier in this post, you can get away with just about anything – especially on Broadway. If you are worried about being too overdressed or too underdressed, don’t be! Most of the honky-tonks will welcome you in whether you are wearing shorts and sneakers or you are dressed to the nines! I really like trying out new fashion trends when I’m in cities like Nashville. Mainly because I know that even if I’m wearing something that would get me funny looks in my small midwestern hometown, in Nashville no one will give it a second thought.
The long denim skirt has been trending for a year or two now. If I’m being honest, it was not something that instantly appealed to me. I’ve seen it styled several ways, but none that made me want to run out and try it for myself. That was until I saw this skirt styled in a Maurice’s advertisement.
The model was wearing it with a textured top, similar to the one from Amazon that I have on here. I thought that paired with a western belt, the outfit would make such a cute and trendy look for Nashville. I will say that when it comes to denim skirts like this one, you have to make sure and find one that fits right. Personally, I tried three different long denim skirts before I settled on this one. If you are considering trying the trend, don’t give up if the first skirt that you try doesn’t work out. The right denim skirt is out there for you!
What to Wear to Nashville Bars
Last, but not least, I had to share this edgy country look. This is another outfit that I didn’t get a chance to wear while I was in Nashville. Mainly because I struggle to keep my luggage under the weight limit. So I didn’t want to have to pack another pair of boots to wear for one outfit. I love the way this one came together though. Hopefully I will be able to wear it to a country concert yet this summer! I was a little nervous about how the shorts would fit. They wound up working out perfectly though! They are not too short. There’s nothing worse than constantly having to yank your shorts down so that your booty cheek doesn’t slip out!
Pro tip: I found the bedazzled shorts and cowgirl hats shared in this post at The Buckle. It had been a LONG time since I’d shopped The Buckle. It is actually a GREAT place to look for pieces for your next Nashville trip. Or a country concert or just a western inspired outfit in general. They have such a great selection. I found all of the pieces that I ordered from the Buckle to be good quality at very fair prices! I’m not sure why it ever fell off of my radar, but I can definitely recommend The Buckle. Especially if you are on the hunt for cute, quality pieces for your next country concert or Nashville trip!!
Well there it is friends – a whole week’s worth of outfits to wear in Nashville! I hope that at least one of these looks has given you some good inspiration for what to wear in Nashville in June. Like I mentioned throughout the post – you really can’t go wrong. So the best piece of advice that I can probably give you is to wear whatever makes you feel great!
